Justin began his current job! It is really crazy to think that he has already worked there a year! This place of employment (I'll omit the name to protect the innocent-ha!) has been such a blessing to our family. The story actually begins two jobs ago, in August of 09, when I was pregnant with Aria. Justin went to a meeting and found out his division of the company was closing. He would be out of a job in March of 10, shortly after Aria was born. We were planning to have me become a stay at home mom, so it frightened us quite a bit. Justin decided not to sit around a wait for March and took a job an hour away from home in December of 09. It was pretty much awful. He made the commute every day. Back and forth. Back and forth. I realize there are many of you out there who make commutes like that and it works just fine for your families. It didn't work for ours. Justin was gone from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. In those first few months, Aria was only awake for about an hour during the time he was home. I hated being alone for so long. Justin hated the time the drive wasted and the time he missed being away from his family. That job was a good position with excellent benefits that paid well. In the end, we were willing to give those things up for a job here in town.
And on July 19, 2010, Justin started that job. Now, he doesn't leave for work until about 7:50 am. He often comes home for lunch and he gets home about 5:10. On top of all that, he likes this job and this company so much better. It is an excellent work environment. They are family friendly with many events throughout the year. They also take good care of their employees. We are so thankful for a job for Justin where he feels challenged, can make a difference, and that is flexible towards our family's wants and needs. It makes all the difference in the world having daddy close by and happy! Happy work anniversary, Justin!
