We've been having a lot of picnics lately. No, not the pack a lunch and go to the park kind of picnics...
The kind where Aria spreads out a blanket in the living room, brings in a variety of dolls and stuffed animals, and sets up quite the meal for them. Sometimes Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, or Papa are invited but other times it is just Aria and her friends. It is rather adorable and a lot of fun to listen to from the other room. She shops for groceries, cooks food in her kitchen, serves dessert, and cleans up the dishes afterwards. If the picnic isn't in the living room, the "friends" often eat at the table with us, complete with silverware, drinks, and food. And, don't you dare move any of their stuff because they won't like it at all! I love the pretending and imagining and the life lessons I hear come out of her as she emulates me in preparing food for her animals and dolls. What a fun stage of life we are in!
