Augie's Birthday

Last year we started a tradition for Augie's birthday.  We took her to the creek to go swimming and had a really great time.  You know, we probably did that kind of thing for Augie on her birthday before Aria came along, but it wasn't documented.  And, we did it a lot more than just her birthday.  Last year Aria loved celebrating Augie's birthday and there was no change in that this year!  We took the big 9-year-old dog to the creek at Thomas park and threw her new Frisbee and a ball for her in the water.  She had a blast swimming and splashing around, but she certainly is getting old and can't go as long as she used to.  Aria also wore her swimming suit and "swim shorts" and splashed around in the creek.  She fell down or sat down a few times, too.  The water was pretty cold.  We saw all kinds of fish and a dead crawdad.  It was a fun little exploration!

In unrelated news, Aria got her face painted at the Farmer's Market that morning. 

When we got home we ate some lunch and had a birthday treat!  Frosty Paws for Augie and Reese's Peanut Butter Cup ice cream treats for us.  Very delicious!

We love our dog and it is fun to have a reason to celebrate!
